Video Clip 2: Deep Relaxation reduces electrical activity in trigger point

The lights in the room are lowered and a headset is placed over the ears of the woman where she is instructed in relaxation. Notice that the clearly increased and intense electrical activity quickly calms down and begins to look equivalent to the activity of the non-trigger point tissue. In other words, when the subject relaxes and her anxiety is eased, the electrical activity in the trigger point quiets down and pain tends to reduce. This is the experience of many people with pelvic pain who find that their symptoms wax and wane according to their level of stress.
